They tell us to function for society, that every role matters and everyone plays their part.

- Work, but in the end, the money barely covers the rent.
- Work, but later on, barely get a decent pension.
- Work at McDonald's, but make people fat, sick, and addicted.
- Work at the checkout, but support exploitation, a throwaway society, and corporate greed.
- Pay taxes, but the money flows into wars, armaments, and corruption.
- Become a nurse, but the system treats you worse than the patients.
- Become a teacher, but prepare children for a system that will later spit them out.
- Become a cop, but defend laws written by politicians for their own interests.
- Become a soldier, but get sacrificed for the mistakes of governments.
- Become a journalist, but have to hit click quotas instead of researching the truth.
- Become a farmer, but get exploited by supermarket chains.
- Become an engineer, but build things designed to break after two years (planned obsolescence) so the company sells more.
- Become a programmer, but develop algorithms that make people addicted or harvest their data.
- Become a bus driver, but sit in traffic for 10 hours and get yelled at by passengers.
- Become a farmer, but earn less than the person packing your meat.
- Become a garbage collector, but see every day how much pointless trash is thrown away.
- Study for years, but in the end, earn less than a career changer without a degree.
- Climb the career ladder, but earn less than your predecessor did.
- Constantly upskill yourself, but your salary has been stagnating for years.
- Learn and study, but the job goes to someone who only speaks English and is cheaper.
- Work your way up to manager, but have less free time and more stress than before.
- Save for years for your own apartment, but real estate prices rise faster than your wages.
- Invest in stocks for retirement, but inflation eats up your returns.
- Work overtime for a promotion, but the position gets cut or given to someone else.
