Boys will be boys. Most of the time, people use this phrase to excuse “typical boys' activities.” Of course, there are exceptions,
such as when boys play rough or are physically active. As long as no one gets hurt and it stays within reasonable limits, it's not a problem.
But I’m talking about when this phrase is used to excuse sexism. For example, going into strangers’ changing rooms, peeping, or similar behavior.
(These days, I rarely see this phrase used. It’s probably already outdated, which I think is a good thing.
Interpret for yourself what is meant by “boys’ activities.” Could a girl not do those kinds of things too? 🤔)
