Reason

HUMANTIUS was created to build a livable future.
We are against racism, militarism, and corruption.
Our society should be based on the foundation of humanism, respect, and solidarity.
Additionally, we support technological advancements.

We firmly believe that everything should be guided by facts and arguments, not feelings.

We are convinced that buzzwords, unnecessarily lengthy language, as well as convoluted and complicated sentences, make a text opaque. Clarity is important to us so that every statement is immediately understandable. Only the essentials matter, without verbiage or repetitions. This way, one does not lose focus and always stays precisely on what truly matters.

Iconography

Flags

The flag should be memorable and easy to reproduce. It must be instantly recognizable and simple to trace.

global

The logo is designed with sharp edges because the movement primarily communicates digitally.
It looks like an “H” or like “i i = i i” or “ii=ii”.
The “i” represent a person – head and body.
The “=” symbol is the mathematical equals sign.

Thus, the logo conveys:
People equal people
Person = Person
All people are equal (in terms of rights and without discrimination).

The word “Humantius” does not exist and is a neologism as well as an acronym. (See above)

Detailed Picture

A detailed image should depict various aspects of a subject, allowing the overall picture to be viewed from different perspectives. It should not be a recognizable logo, but rather an image that represents the entirety of a subject.

1

In the background, there are books symbolizing knowledge.
The door, positioned in the center, represents the hidden aspects of the world. We know it is there, but no one knows what lies behind it.

At the top, gears are depicted, metaphorically embodying thinking. When a person thinks, they set the gear in motion.
This gear also functions as a clock, because only those who think drive the process forward. However, it also signifies the fleeting nature of life.
Vanitas – and everything has an end.

The naked bodies of man and woman represent humans free from all additions. They show the essence of human existence.

On the right side of the image, several elements carry deeper meanings:

The brain on the books symbolizes intellect and rationality.

The robot represents progress and the necessity to further develop various technologies and integrate them into our daily lives to make human life easier and richer.

The world map on the far right stands for our global and interconnected existence. It reflects humanity’s drive to be connected worldwide.
The figures depicted on the map symbolize a worldwide network such as the Internet, Intranet, Extranet, satellite connections, radio links, wave connections, and more. They embody the idea of connecting ideas, communication, and community across all borders, perhaps even spanning across the world map itself.

The animals on the bottom right appeal to harmonious coexistence. They represent the idea that we should live in harmony with the animal world and respect them as a valuable part of our shared planet.

Hymn

The following is a Germanic folk song. This song has been MODIFIED2 and should serve as inspiration for thinking and reflection.
Inspired by: Die Gedanken sind frei (Thoughts are free)3

Text
(AI was used to translate)

The Free Thoughts

1. The free thoughts,
who can guess their source,
they are gifts in the night,
a shadow’s quiet course.
No one can know them,
no prison can contain,
it’ll always be:
Thoughts are free!

2. I think what I will,
and what makes me glad,
but all in silence,
and fittingly clad.
My wish and desire,
no one can deny,
it’ll always be:
Thoughts are free!

3. Lock me away,
in a dark prison cell,
these are all vain,
futile as well.
For my thoughts will
go through every bar,
it’ll always be:
Thoughts are free!

4. Bound at my feet,
with chains and bands,
made by distress,
by life’s harsh strands.
I long to forget worries,
and cease to complain,
and my senses fade,
yet in my heart’s domain,
I can always laugh,
and joke again,
it’ll always be:
Thoughts are free!

5. No one can find the chain,
that binds my thoughts,
nor can anyone contain
what my mind has wrought.
Women and men,
their thoughts can’t be caught,
it’ll always be:
Thoughts are free!

Members responsibilities

Overlaps:
Interested parties and spectators are loosely defined terms that may overlap.

Definition

dehumanizing

The term “dehumanizing” is defined in the document as follows, regardless of whether the term is used as an adjective, noun, adverb, or in any other grammatical form.
This definition includes any dehumanizing activity, any dehumanizing opinion, as well as the use of the term on its own, with or without reference to a specific noun.

Dehumanizing is any activity, opinion, or action that denies the equal worth of all human beings, justifies violence as a means, or violates human dignity.
However, it is permitted if an individual engages in such activities in a non-real or simulated scenario, or in consensual activities where all affected individuals, including potential victims, agree to it and are not harmed.

Name Hierarchy

Whenever the word “from” is used in a sentence or explanation, it always refers to that level and above (except for the term HUMANTIUS).
The hierarchy can be derived from the terminology, where 1 is the highest level and 6 is the lowest.

For example, “from HUMANTIUS-Participants must…” means that the following terms are included: HUMANTIUS-Participants and HUMANTIUS-Members.

Responsibilities

Self-explanatory rules:

This applies to EVERYONE.

  1. One must be of legal age. (At least 18 or 21 years old)

  3. No one needs to know which party has been voted.
  4. No one should be pressured.
  5. Everyone should be able to express concerns and criticism without being judged, ostracized, or facing other consequences, as long as these opinions are not dehumanizing.
  6. No one should hold or promote a dehumanizing opinion.
  7. No swearword
  8. Do not engage in any dehumanizing activities, except for personal self-defense.
  9. No form of military force or military service, including those declared as “defense”.

Philosophy

Guiding Thoughts

  • As you treat me, so I treat you.
  • Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Image of Human

Humans are special beings. They can speak, write, and understand figurative metaphors. No other being can do this on the same level as humans. While other beings can be taught some skills, they will never understand to this degree.

Humans have created an imaginary world with concepts like monarchy, democracy, and aristocracy. They have also created structures such as houses, trains, and factories that shape humanity.

We are convinced that people are the force capable of saving the world.
Our ancestors lived in societies where they could only survive through violence and murder.
However, this is no longer the case today. Still, it sometimes becomes evident that the greatest enemy of humanity is humanity itself.

Humans are a thinking machine.

Thinking

We believe that almost every thought can be translated into sentences.
The art lies in approximating and deciphering these sentences.
However, the truth of the thought itself remains unattainable.

Philosophy of Argumentation

4
The focus is not on winning a dispute, but on the search for truth through a better understanding.
Arguments are reasons whose persuasive power lies in logic and verifiability.
One should be willing to revise one’s own beliefs if better arguments and evidence are presented.
Calmness and composure are crucial, as emotions can cloud objectivity.
In a factual atmosphere, arguments can be formulated more clearly and assessed more effectively.

Argumentation can be understood as a circle. First, a thesis is presented, followed by an argument. Then, a counter-argument is made, which is refuted by another counter-argument, and so on.

The goal is to uncover the truth through arguments and evidence.
Arguments and evidence are tools to recognize the truth through reason and understanding.

Only in this way can we come closer to the truth.

Pacifism

We are absolutely convinced that people can only be persuaded through arguments and never through violence. Therefore, we completely and without any exception reject all forms of violence, all wars, armed conflicts, and weapons, regardless of the situation, command, or justification. We refuse any service or action that causes harm to another human being, without exception.

Statement

Justification based on conscience

This is not a template or a sample for a conscientious objection application. Using a template can lead to rejection, as authorities expect a personal and genuine statement.
Rewrite the following statement in your own words and expand upon the content in the brackets. Adapt the section to reflect your true, personal history. Include supporting evidence.
For legally valid “conscientious objection” procedures specific to your country, you must consult a lawyer or a legal advisor specializing in this field. Local laws and requirements vary significantly.

Declaration of Conscientious Objection

[Your Name, Address, Date]
To the Relevant Military or Conscription Authorities
[Country/Institution Address]

1) My Worldview
I adhere to a humanist worldview that presupposes the absolute equal worth of all human beings and fundamentally rejects violence as immoral.
[Or state another justification]
This conviction forbids me from any use of violence, as it violates human dignity and is incompatible with my ethical principles. Therefore, I fundamentally refuse any form of armed service.

2) The Development of My Conviction
{Rewrite the entire section 2 in your own words and expand upon the content in the brackets. Adapt section 2 to your real-life story. Include supporting evidence.}

From an early age, through family conflicts and news about wars, I recognized that violence is always associated with suffering for me and does not represent an acceptable solution.
I am always deeply affected when I see people suffering and dying. In movies, they are merely actors, but with real news about war and violence, I feel empathy and grief, to the point where I feel internally complicit and guilty.
[Also mention other examples, e.g., documentaries about wars or personal encounters.]

Through intensive reflection on [e.g., Gandhi, Humanism, Pacifism, modern philosophy, religion], I have developed a firm pacifist stance since [e.g., 3 years ago or more].
I resolve conflicts in my daily life through dialogue and other non-violent means. These principles have become my guiding model.
[In disputes with family/colleagues/fellow human beings, I always seek a conversation or apply other non-violent solutions. Mention other examples as well.]

[Mention personal examples. Perhaps also other approaches. It should be personal. E.g., “In X-conflict, I did Y.”
Optimally: Mention evidence and documentation such as witness statements that could be confirmed upon inquiry.]

3) Why I Cannot Perform Armed Service
For me, any form of killing or injuring, direct or indirect, in any war or conflict is absolutely impossible. Even in “defense” or under orders, I would feel guilty for life and it would destroy my conscience. I could not touch a weapon without permanently burdening my conscience.

Therefore, I unconditionally refuse any military service involving weapons:
Due to my pacifist and humanist convictions [or other], my conscience cannot reconcile injuring or killing a human being, directly or indirectly. Consequently, in any potential war or conflict, I unconditionally reject any participation in armed actions, any service with a weapon, any supportive service connected to military violence, and any form of military application of force.

This decision of conscience is absolutely binding and allows for no exceptions.

Principles and Morals

HUMANTIUS is based on the values of humanism: respect for human dignity, reason, and freedom. We celebrate the culture of enlightenment and science and understand humanism as the foundation for a just, peaceful, and sustainable world. Our ideals build upon these core values.

We believe that everything can and should be supported by arguments (not feelings or authority).

Our guiding values are humanity, freedom, solidarity, rationality, and empathy. We stand for an open society that recognizes and promotes arguments. Sustainability and responsibility in dealing with people and nature form the foundation of our actions.

We commit to ethical behavior that respects the dignity of all living beings. Honesty, respect, integrity, and responsibility are non-negotiable for us. We promote moral awareness that shapes individual behavior and societal development alike.

Goals

Vision

Our goal is to build a society that stands for humanity, freedom, and understanding.
This means that we need to change the entire system from the ground up.
From the education system and work to elections and politics.

We believe that every person has a right to a self-determined and dignified life.
In a world where injustice and corruption too often complicate coexistence, we commit ourselves to an open, fair, and logical society.
Together, we want to build bridges, overcome prejudices, and shape a future where respect and reason are the cornerstones.

We believe that all statements must be supported by arguments and critically examined, not by emotions or authorities.

We are convinced that many laws have been designed by lobbyists and politicians in a way that facilitates and conceals corruption.

– For a better world that we can all help shape –

Our goal is to build an open, inclusive community in which all people, animals, and nature are protected.

We promote education, critical thinking, and innovation to find sustainable solutions to social, ecological, and technical challenges.

Humanist society

Welcome to a humanist society!

In this society, humans and animals live side by side – no living being is eaten anymore, as compassion and respect shape everyday life.
Wars are a thing of the past; conflicts are resolved with great patience, dialogue, and empathy.
Everyone can freely and safely express their opinion, everyone enjoys equal rights, and nature flourishes under everyone’s protection.

Everyone cares for one another, helps where they can, and leaves no one alone. Children learn early on how important friendship, science, and the well-being of all beings are. Joyful diversity, collaboration, and mutual support prevail everywhere.

Technology works fully in the service of people and nature: highly stable, environmentally friendly buildings provide safety and comfort for all. Robots take over the tedious or unpleasant tasks – they clean, build, or perform heavy labor, allowing people to focus on creativity, research, ideas, and community. This way, everyone has more time to shape the world with both head and heart.

Of course, there are still small hurdles here: bureaucracy is sometimes a bit slow. And when everyone wants to reconsider the voting process lovingly takes even more.

And at the end of the day, the community celebrates its successes together – without rush and with a friendly smile.

Social Criticism

We criticize social inequality, political extremism, and the short-sighted pursuit of power and profit. We reject discrimination, intolerance, and violence in all forms and question existing power structures, societal norms, values, and definitions of justice within the judiciary.

Social Aspect

Social togetherness, respect, and active solidarity define us. No one is excluded or left alone. We promote the participation of all people and commit ourselves to supporting all groups. Appreciative dialogue and communal action are at the core of our social values.

Economics and Economy

We strive for an ethically responsible and sustainable economy that considers the welfare of all living beings.

Fair working conditions, equitable resource distribution, and the promotion of social innovation are important to us. We criticize destructive capitalism and aim for a balance between economic success and the common good.

Moreover, we question the idea that the economy comes before the people and reject the notion that a strong economy automatically means a better life.

Politics

We are convinced that politics today is too often permeated by corruption and power interests that do not prioritize the needs of the people. Many politicians attain their positions not through honest work or democratic elections but through personal contacts and lobby influences.

Therefore, it is essential for us to have our own people in political offices who actively fight such machinations and systemic grievances. Even if this process will take decades, we are prepared to walk this long path to restore transparency, justice, and the welfare of society.

Equality

Gender equality and equality of all social groups are central to us. We reject all forms of discrimination and promote equal opportunities at every level.

Communication

It is by no means necessary for anyone to follow the guidelines below; however, they can sometimes be helpful in finding like-minded individuals outside of verbal or non-verbal communication and through other means.

Dangers

Anyone could pretend to be a like-minded person.
Such false like-minded individuals could attempt to manipulate, deceive, or worse.
False like-minded individuals might impersonate “us” to harm “us,” for example through provocative activities, forged documents, or interviews with malicious intent.
Take care of yourselves!

Appearance

A visible red color should be worn on the clothing.
